So lots of people from the office were going out for lunch trip at the new Mexican restaurant. It was at an outdoor shopping complex and there were a lot of cool shops, many old places as well surrounding the restaurant
But I found the restaurant. People were just being seated. Since I was the ninth person I had to sit a the second table. Other people coming late would sit there was well. I guess 12-13 people were coming, only 9 showed up. When I realized that, I decided to sit with the group. They would make space. When they did the waiters started delivering the food.
They forgot to take my order since I was at the other table. So I ordered 1 taco and some rice, no beans, no… just rice. Maybe they will bring it over quickly and I can eat it with everyone. Their dinner, maybe before everyone leaves.
The conversation was ‘interesting things on new York’. I was at new York, I can contribute to the conversation. Was that the bean? No Chicago. Was that the mall on the side of the hill? No Seattle. That was the underground mall. But by the the time I said that everyone was gone.
I went to the cashier to change my order to to-go and to pay. But instead, the cashier was trying to sell me home made carpet. On the other side of the register was the showroom. They were carpet tiles, lots of them stacked pallet style. Going all the way back. They were tiny 8x8 but in instead of the yarn going up and down, it was spaghetti style. Mostly black yarn with white glue with the yarn the thickness of over 1/4 inch. The yarn pile was about 2 inches deep. Overall… Yuck.
The cashier was trying to get me to buy 8 tiles. No… I could see me rice was ready. It was piled into one of those 7-11 44 ounce containers, also yuck, and the taco won’t be ready for awhile
