According to the internet, Clive Cussler’s first book was published when he was 42. He published over 80 adventure books in his lifetime
Clive is mostly famous for his NUMA series, although he wrote other series as well.
Numa was an abbreviation for Navel Underwater Marine Agency.
I discovered he books in the 90’s when I was commuting from yuba city to Sacramento. Price club started selling Clive Cussler audio books. I purchased all they had.
The Numa series of books is a collection of adventures of dirk pitt, and a few of his coworkers.
Each book is a quest to find a treasure. Dirk is the hero - an alpha who always wins. There’s always a villain who eventually loses, there’s usually a helpless damsel in distress. The victims are usually overly grateful.
In short sometimes its over the top.
Maybe over the top, but still good reads.
I Have not yet read the other series.
They did make two of his Numa books into movies
- Saraha - Which was quite good.
- Raise the titanic - which i have not seen
