Stephen King specializes in horror books. But writes other types as well.
I discovered Stephen King back in the 90’s when I was commuting from Yuba city to Sacramento.
The Price Club(now called CostCo) started selling audio books and Stephen King was one of the authors they sold. I bought all of his audio books that they sold.
Stephen King books are mesmerizing. Each one a great read even if it wasn’t a subject I was interested in.
He wrote a few series like the dark tower, but most of his books were standalone novels.
He is rumored to be a horror book writer, I hear stories of people being creeped out. I suppose I never got deep into his books because what I read was horrorfying things happening to the characters in the book. Didn’t bother me any. Although there was one book that i got so into that there was a scene where the character was getting ready to form a mob and I was almost ready to rise up with the others.
Many of Steven King’s book have been turned into movies and also TV series. The latter ones have been quite good.
Here’s a few
• It - I missed this one
• Under the dome - A series that lasted 3 seasons. Great
• The stand - Great book, I missed the movie and the series
• Pet cemetery
• Dolores Clayborne - great book, great movie.
• Misery - Great book. Great movie
• Shawshank redemption - The book was written as a mini series (6 part) and was great. This was one of my sisters favorite movies.
• The Shining
• The Dark Tower - written as 6-7 great books plus a few short stories. Great. I bought the movie (dvd), i haven’t seen it yet.
