Dream - 0217 - Bryan's Visit

Messy Kitchen

So Bryan came over. I cooked dinner! I cooked a turkey. Way way to much gravy. Lots of veg’s. There were messes everywhere. Sink was full, garbage was overflowing. Even the extra trash can by the refrigerator. Gosh the table and counters were a mess.

There were a few clean plates, so I piled the plates. I got one, Bryan got the other, we had to push spaces on the table just to fit our plates. It was quite good.

It came to mind the I have been practicing piano lately, I wonder if Bryan has seen my new ELO sheet music book. I handed it to him he opens the book and it’s just that. A book, not of sheet music just words and pictures. Hmm that’s not even my book. Where’s my book to… Even the piano was covered with stuff. Well there’s the one piece I been practicing.

Bryan mentioned he has been practicing as well. He has 2 duffle bags one is the shape of a small drum, the other is even smaller.

Just then Rhonda gets home … ‘Don’t worry honey, I’ll clean things up later’. While she is coming in to the house, I rush over to check out the messes on the kitchen

Oh god!… there is at least 2 LEDs lit up on the table, some of it under papers and boxes and stuff. I left the electric frying pans on, I’ve got to turn them off quick, but I need to find the switches, and I wonder about the stove. Rhonda heads off to the bedroom.

Just then the sound of a violin starts in the other room. All right… There’s nothing I can do here. I go into the music room.

Bryan has setup something like a cello. It has a base looking like a steel drum. A board in the back and 2 strings on the front of the base connecting to the top of the board. (But quite a bit more sophisticated - board was closer to a fancy guitar handle). He was playing it with a violin bow. The steel drum base was giving it a deeper and louder sound then you’d expect. Pretty cool.

But Bryan wasn’t playing ELO, or even rock music, or even classical or even whatever Philip Glass does. Rather he was doing jazz. And he was doing it well…. Except it was jazz - yuck. Just then both stings from the top drop out slip off from the top of the guitar handle. It turns out it was one long piece. Cool how he got so many sounds from 1 piece of string.

Actually it’s time for the visit to end.

The kitchen was dirty, the sink is full of dirty dishes, the counter is full of dirty dishes and pans. The dining table is also dirty with dishes and bills and envelopes
